Free Theme Launch: Gallery

Remember me telling you about the upcoming themes for January? I know, it’s probably been the longest week of your life. Well, as promised, we are excited to release Gallery into your capable hands today.

Gallery Theme

As I said before, this is not the Gallery theme of old. We improved the codebase from the ground up. We made it responsive. Content types get their own unique touches like custom styling for all the new post types like “Status” and “Video” and a slick slider for the photo “Gallery” posts. We also put serious thought towards making theme customization easy. Incorporating SASS and Compass makes a completely different look only few color value changes away.  And the list goes on.

Now, that’s all well and good. But with a theme like Gallery, you can’t ignore the look and feel. So we brought Gallery into 2013. You could say it’s modern and contemporary. You could say it smells of rich mahogany. We say it’s flat-out classy.

And here’s the best part: Gallery and all its enhancements is entirely free. If you’ve considered joining the UpThemes community, but needed a dabble in our product first, this is your chance. If you fall in love with it, as we think you will, there’s a Pro version of the theme in months to come.

You can download Gallery now and install it on your WordPress site. Enjoy!

Are you allowed to post in the forum with just a free membership? I was unable to… I’ve been checking out the free version of Gallery and have a few questions… Should I just post here? Thanks….

You should be able to post in the forums, but we do not provide full support for free themes. We will fix bugs, but we don’t typically guarantee response or turnaround times unless it’s a security issue.

I’ve bought frameworks and themes and found them to be disappointing once I have paid and then actually tried them on my site. So, I am not rushing to buy any other premium themes. I thought your framework looked interesting in the demo but I can not figure out how to install it with the Gallery theme. The instructions on the site just confuse me. I am able to use Filezilla to load the files and I’m not sure I have that right. So, at this point I can’t even try the Gallery theme and the UpThemes framework to see how they work out. I wish the install was easier.
